Others catch-all group
Others catch-all group collects every non-pinned, unmatched tab into a named tab group when you run Group All — so no tab is left without a home.
Premium only #
The Others catch-all group is a Premium-only feature. It will not appear for free users regardless of grouping mode — unmatched tabs stay ungrouped.
Overview #
Others catch-all group is a Premium opt-in feature. When enabled, running Group All creates an "Others" tab group that catches any tab not matched by a rule. The feature is off by default — ungrouped tabs stay ungrouped until you turn it on.
How to enable #
Open Takt Settings → TAB GROUPS and turn on "Others catch-all group". The toggle is locked for free users — this is a Premium-only feature.
What ends up in Others #
Any non-pinned tab that is not matched by a rule and is not a restricted browser page
(chrome://, chrome-extension://, or javascript:)
is collected into the Others group when Group All runs.
How Others interacts with rules #
Rules run first. Tabs that match a rule go to their assigned group as normal. Only the leftover unmatched tabs land in Others.
Running Group All again is idempotent — Takt reuses the existing Others group rather than creating a new one.
Edge cases and gotchas #
- Others disabled: if the setting is off, tabs that don't match any rule stay ungrouped. No Others group is created.
- All tabs match rules: if every non-pinned, non-restricted tab is claimed by a rule, no Others group is created — even when the setting is on.
- Keyboard shortcut path: using the Group All keyboard shortcut behaves exactly the same as clicking the Group All button — the Others setting is respected in both cases.
